Harvey Weinstein is Rich, Famous, and Guilty!

A New York jury has found movie producer Harvey Weinstein guilty on two counts of felony sex crimes involving two different women. Specifically, he was found guilty of committing a criminal sex act in the first degree, which lead to a prison sentence of 23 years on March 11, 2020.
Often times, celebrities, athletes, and top executives are not charged for their crimes. Based on my research and conversations with Survivors, I attribute this behavior to some of the top reasons:
1. They have the money to pay for the best lawyers to create a good defense.
2. Victims are threatened by fans not to testify.
3. Society believes the offender over the Victim.
4. The cases are hard to prove because of a lack of evidence.
5. The offender will pay the Victim an enormous amount of money to settle out of court.
6. The media will report the case in favor of the offender.
7. The justice system fails the Victim.
8. The Victim never reports the crime because of their own personal reasons.
I am very proud of all of the women who joined forces and came forward to testify against Harvey Weinstein. This took a lot of courage because Victims are often vilified by the media and society. It is not easy to make the decision to HUSH No More, but more than 100 women have come forward since 2017, accusing Weinstein of sexual misconduct. I truly believe that he was found guilty because of joint efforts of all of these women. They should be acknowledge for their determination to stop a rapist. I also applaud the State of New York, for taking the reports serious, and taking actions.
Weinstein faces additional felony criminal charges in Los Angeles; a date for that trial has not yet been set. Just because you are rich and famous, does not mean that you have the right to rape, drug, molest, sexually harass, commit incest or even touch someone without their consent. Your status does not give you the right to take advantage of someone else. No one has the right to control or hurt someone else. I hope this case is a warning to all of the men and women who use their power and control to take advantage of innocent individuals.
Survivors are now standing up and deciding to HUSH No More!
**A special message to society. Stop being so quick to believe the rapist over a person that is risking everything to report their abuse. Less than 1-2% of all sexual assault cases are false.
